Hiii,
This is something new i've been wanting to write for a while, little letters from us to you. We're calling it PokéMail. Think of it like opening something soft and familiar, like a note tucked into your binder or a message from a friend who just pulled something pretty and had to tell you about it right away.
Because something has been happening lately. You can feel it if you're paying attention. More girlies are collecting Pokémon than ever before, not just playing, not just chasing hits, but building collections that feel like them. Cute, intentional, a little bit dreamy.
And we wanted to sit with that for a second.
If you're new here, we're Moonlight Soleil, a women-owned Pokémon TCG shop based in North Carolina, focused on sealed Korean, Chinese, and English product, built for the girlies who love the softer side of collecting.
This is our first PokéMail.
Let's talk about what's been unfolding.
The girlies have arrived
There's been a shift in Pokémon collecting, and it's not subtle anymore.
For a long time, the hobby had this reputation, competitive, loud, a little intimidating if you didn't fit into it a certain way. But over the past couple of years, something opened up. More women, more non-binary collectors, more people who weren't here to "win," but to feel something.
And now it's everywhere.
By 2025, women make up around 48% of the global gaming population. That's not a niche anymore, that's half. And among women aged 18 to 34, collecting isn't just about gameplay. Around 81% prioritize things like character customization and community over pure competition. That means aesthetics matter. Emotion matters. The way your binder looks when you flip through it matters.
Pokémon TCG Pocket quietly became part of that bridge. After launching in October 2024, it reached about $90.4 million in monthly revenue by early 2025, with roughly 12.6 million active users by 2026. It made collecting feel accessible again, something you could do in small moments, without pressure. And from there, a lot of girlies crossed over into physical collecting.
You can see it in the creators shaping the space right now. Pat Flynn (@deeppocketmonsterofficial) brings scale and visibility to the hobby. Rachel Gunn (@pokegirlrach) blends cozy fashion and collecting into something lifestyle-driven. Holly Stohl (@hollypaintscards) turns cards into art objects. Kimmy Spicer (@pinky.pogo) built an entire "pink Pokémon girl" aesthetic around collecting.
None of them feel like the old version of the hobby. They feel like us.
And that's kind of the point.
The cutest Pokémon, ranked by us, the girlies
There's always this question floating around: what is the cutest Pokémon? And honestly, it changes depending on your mood. Some days it's soft and sleepy. Some days it's pink and sparkly. Some days it's a little weird in a way that makes you love it more.
So this isn't a definitive ranking. It's just the ones I like
Jigglypuff
Round, pink, and almost too simple to explain, Jigglypuff was designed to feel soft and familiar, like something you could hold. The 2025 "Scream Tail" Paradox form sparked a whole new wave of alt-kawaii fan art, and suddenly she felt new again.
Eevee
Eevee was designed to be "as plain as possible," which somehow made it perfect. It's potential in its purest form, soft, neutral, and open to becoming anything you need it to be.
Sylveon
Pink, ribboned, and deeply emotional, Sylveon exists to represent connection. The 2026 Prismatic Evolutions cards pushed it back into the spotlight, especially for collectors who care about aesthetic over everything else.
Espeon
Quiet and elegant, Espeon feels like velvet. That soft lilac tone, the split tail, the calm expression, it's the kind of Pokémon that doesn't try too hard and doesn't need to.
Vaporeon
A little strange, a little beautiful. Designed with a mermaid in mind, Vaporeon has that "soft but uncanny" energy that makes you keep looking at it longer than you expected.
Pikachu
The original icon. Pikachu's shape was inspired by a daifuku rice cake, which honestly explains everything. The "Van Gogh Pikachu" moment in late 2024 carried all the way into 2026 part art, part nostalgia, part collectible obsession.
Mew
Mew feels like something you're not supposed to fully understand. Small, pink, almost floating between realities. It was secretly added to the original game using leftover space, which makes it feel even more like a hidden treasure.
And if you've seen the "Bubble Mew," you know exactly why it became one of the most aesthetic cards in the hobby. If you haven't, you can read more about it here.
Togepi
The original baby Pokémon. Always tucked inside its shell, always just a little bit protected. The 2025 egg-hatching ASMR trend brought Togepi back into focus in the softest way.
Snorlax
There's something deeply comforting about Snorlax. It doesn't rush. It doesn't perform. It just exists. The viral Snorlax bean bag chairs in 2025 made it the unofficial mascot of cozy gaming rooms.
Sprigatito
A green kitten with floral energy, Sprigatito instantly captured the girlie market in Gen IX. Soft, playful, and easy to love.
Mimikyu
A little spooky, a little sad. Mimikyu isn't trying to be Pikachu, it's trying to be loved. That "creepy-cute" aesthetic hit especially hard during the 2025 alt-fashion wave.
Wooper
No thoughts. Just vibes. The Paldean Wooper and its "head-empty" expression turned into a full-on viral moment with the "Wooper walk" trend.
Cleffa / Clefairy
The original pink icons. Clefairy was almost the face of Pokémon before Pikachu. And in 2025, moon-viewing themed Clefairy merch sold out almost instantly, mostly driven by aesthetic collectors.
